We hope you like the spoilers. If you still haven’t had enough information ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S22 launch, then these new leaks are sure to see you through until Samsung Galaxy Unpacked on February 9.

These leaks come from the filter evan blassthrough its Leakmail Substack Newsletter. A series of purported promotional materials from Italy apparently confirm many rumored specs and also shed light on the key differences between the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Also, we get more details about the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s alleged SuperClear lens.

In the leaked material, we see several of the phone’s measurements and specifications, which we’ve summarized in the table below.

The only difference that we can see in these specifications is the chipset. These leaks seem to come from Italy, which is getting the rumored Exynos 2200 chipset for all phones sold in Europe, including the UK. However, the US market will likely use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 version of the S22, which offers slightly different performance and also won’t use the AMD RDNA graphics present on the Exynos chip.

The screen seems to be a key feature that the S22 will focus on. Marketing heralds the display as “the brightest display ever on a Galaxy,” offering 1,300 nits of brightness and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

One change to the camera package on all three models is the updated video mode, described as “the biggest leap in our video technology” and “more vivid and stable than ever” in Italian marketing copy. The logo in the corner also says that the phone records at up to 8K resolution in Super HDR, an upgrade from the manageable standard 8K on the S21 series.

Apparently, there are a lot of similarities between the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus. However, the main difference is the size. While both models are reportedly smaller than last year’s S21 equivalents, the S22 Plus is projected to remain a fairly large phone at 6.6-inches, with the same 1300-nit, 120Hz AMOLED technology for its screen.

Loading is the other main difference besides size. The S22 is designed to only offer 25W charging, like the S21 series did. According to these leaks, the S22 Plus and S22 Ultra can charge up to 45W. Samsung previously offered this on the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, though it included 25W chargers in the box.

However, we likely won’t get chargers in the box with the S22 series, as Samsung is done with the S21. If that wasn’t enough evidence, promotional images also show that the phone’s packaging contains just the S22 phone, a USB-C cable, and a SIM tool.

We see the biggest differences in range between the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the S22 and S22 Plus. You can see the full specs mentioned in the table above, but the main ones are the differently designed quad rear camera array, the higher resolution selfie camera, and the larger 6.8-inch screen with a higher brightness rating of 1,750 nits. .

The biggest new detail we get from these leaks is an explanation of the previously rumored SuperClear lens, which is fitted to the 108MP main camera. It is described in the marketing material (translated from Italian) as offering “brighter shots without reflections or glare”. Camera lenses can’t help but distort the light that passes through them on the way to the sensor that actually captures the image in front of you, so this new lens Samsung is using aims to reduce or even eliminate this common problem. .

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will take place on February 9, and it’s a safe bet to assume we’ll see the S22 there, along with the Galaxy Tab S8 series of tablets. However, please note that the actual release date of the S22 series could be further away than expected due to supply chain issues.
