Final Fantasy VII turns 25 and there will be news about its remake to celebrate | LevelUp

Today is a very special date for fans of Final Fantasy VII, considered one of the best RPG of all time. The title debuted in Japan on January 31, 1997, so it’s turning 25 years old.

For this reason, Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura, creatives at Square Enix, published a special message to celebrate with the entire community. In it, they anticipate some interesting announcements related to the universe of said game and also with its remake.

This is because more projects are expected Final Fantasy VII in the future, as well as news of part 2 of the remake sometime this year.

Square Enix prepares announcements for the anniversary of Final Fantasy VII

During a special anniversary stream, Kitase and Nomura briefly talked about the future of Final Fantasy VII. They know that fans are waiting for news about the second part of the remake, so they raised the hype with some statements.

“Hmm, news about Final Fantasy VII Remake part 2… I wonder if we’ll be able to give news this year… Ah, well… I guess we’ll announce more news this year!” Kitase commented. News about the project is expected in the coming months, although there is also the possibility that the announcements will take longer than expected.

On the other hand, Nomura commented that the anniversary is a special and unique occasion to continue his journey with the title, for which he stated that “in the future there will be even more new projects from Final Fantasy VII that started after the remake.”

Kitase also talked about what lies ahead for the game’s universe, which has gradually expanded with releases of all kinds. “Final Fantasy VII has re-emerged as the latest game in the series once again, with titles like Final Fantasy VII Remake Y Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, and you can look forward to even more exciting new developments in the future!

Thus, everything indicates that there will be Final Fantasy VII for a while, but for now the surprises that Square Enix prepares are a mystery. Fans will have to be patient, especially to learn more about part 2 of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
