With Uncharted 4: A thief’s End, it seems that the story of the charismatic bounty hunter Nathan Drake has reached its final end. Despite that, Naughty Dog wanted to explore more narrative arcs with a new leading duo in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a spin-off that allowed us to learn more about Chloe Frazer and Nobody Ross. However, it seems that the developers had other plans.
During a recent chat with the magazine GQ, Shaun Escayg, director of the spin-off, revealed that Victor Sullivan, partner and mentor of Nathan Drake, would be the main focus of the title. However, they backed down and instead decided to cast Chloe Frazer in the lead role.

“I clung to Chloe because she was always an intriguing character. So self centered, so selfish. You just want to know what makes a person like that. And then when we combine that with Nadine, a thief and a mercenary, the disaster just plays out in your mind as you’re like, ‘Oh my God. This is a big conflict,” explained Shaun Escayg.
What will be the future of Uncharted?
Certainly, the Naughty Dog and PlayStation franchise has a lot of potential to tell new stories, even if Nathan Drake isn’t involved.
Given this, Shaun Escayg made it very clear in another interview that the studio loves the franchise and that it is not impossible to see her return. Of course, he never confirmed that a new installment is in development.
Luckily, fans of the bounty hunter will be able to experience an unprecedented story on the big screen. We must remember that the tape Uncharted starring Tom Holland will hit theaters on February 17.
But tell us, do you think leaving Sully aside was the right decision? Let us read you in the comments.
