Ehe Alicante faces the Fayetteville World Cup (United States) with a great season behind him and the illusion of being able to sneak into, at least, the top-10 of the event. After a long journey, and already with the colors of the Spanish selection, Felipe Orts play this Sunday the Cyclocross World Cup. A test that he has prepared with care and in which he wants to shine. His national and international successes endorse the runner’s strong commitment to trying to achieve a very good result against the best in the world. Without a doubt, he is in a position to compete in everything in what will be his ninth cyclocross world championship.
The route is made up of a 3-kilometre circuit that consists of an initial favorable section, to later link up with several short and explosive climbs. The most technical section is found in the second part, with a long uphill staircase that connects with a quick descent, although not very complicated. Before the stairs, there is also paving with stone slabs.
Looking at the future
Orts offered his vision: “The World Championship is always a special event, the most important race of the year. I arrive in very good shape, I have prepared it with great care and I hope I can do it well. The truth is that I do not love the circuit, but we’re going to give it our all. It’s going to be a very physical race, to get to the end strong and then be able to climb many positions. So it’s important not to leave the race at any time”.
The race will take place this Sunday at 2:30 p.m. US time, 9:30 p.m. in Spain. The usual platforms will broadcast a race that can also be followed through the UCI website.
