While the future of Activision Blizzard’s franchises remains to be seen, the developers are still working on new updates for games already on the market. Such is the case of Overwatch, which this week received a new wave of content in celebration of the Lunar New Year. However, fans are not happy with the latest edition of this special event.

What happens is that this new season, which began on January 25 and will end until February 15, introduced new cosmetic items such as gestures, spray, highlights and, of course, skins. However, the latter are the ones that caused the anger of the community.

The thing is that, in this year’s edition, only 2 new legendary skins were added. Specifically, Tracer and Mercy will take to the battlefield in a new outfit that is inspired by the Year of the Tiger. Soldier 76 and Wrecking Ball have also received new epic skins, which are unlocked by completing weekly challenges.

To make a comparison, in the 2021 edition of the Lunar New Year, 5 legendary skins arrived in the competitive shooter. Of course, fans aren’t happy that this year the number of outfits was more than halved.

Blizzard responds to complaints from Overwatch players

As expected, dozens of gamers took to social media and forums to express your displeasure due to the absence of new skins for the heroes of the video game.

Given this scenario, a Blizzard spokesman told the portal Dot Sports that they understand the discontent of the fans, but assured that the teams work on new aspects that will arrive in the coming months.

“We understand that this year’s Lunar New Year event doesn’t have the number of legendary skins that previous events have. The skin team is hard at work, with more legendary skins planned for 2022 than any previous year. We will share more with players on this topic throughout the year,” said a Blizzard spokesperson.

It’s worth remembering that while there are only 2 new Legendary skins, players will be able to unlock all of the skins and other cosmetic items that debuted in previous years’ editions of the event.
