Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 8: Village exceeds 5.7 million copies sold from its launch on May 7 to date of December 31. The company has offered this data and others in its results for the third quarter of the fiscal year -October, November and December 2021-, which means 700,000 more units since the figure announced in October.
Along with this information Capcom highlights the 1.4 million achieved by Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and the 8 million Monster Hunter Rise -in this case, as of January 18, 2022-. Resident Evil 7 is still considered one of the most important games in its catalog since the launch in January 2017, because for the sixth consecutive fiscal year it has exceeded one million copies. The global sales of its most important sagas are as follows:
- Resident Evil: 123 million
- Monster Hunter: 78 million
- Street Fighter: 47 million
- Mega Man series: 37 million
- Devil May Cry series: 25 million
- Dead Rising series: 14 million
Resident Evil 8: Village It is for sale on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. It has been confirmed that there is a downloadable content in progress, but there are no further details or date for its release.
Record profits for Capcom in 2021
Capcom’s profitability continues to rise thanks to the sales of its catalog and the latest deliveries of Resident Evil Y Monster Hunter. In its report for the first nine months of the current fiscal year – from April to December – Capcom has achieved the best net sales and profitability of a third quarter in its history, which is expected to have Capcom, for the fifth consecutive year, a record in profits in it to the prosecutor.
