Cameroon won Group A during the group stage, winning two games and drawing the other.
It has been a strong tournament for Vincent Aboubakar, who plays in Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr. He has scored five goals so far, two more than anyone else in the tournament. Cameroon also conceded a pair of goals from Ligue 1 Lyon striker Karl Toko Ekambi.
The 2017 AFCON champions Cameroon did not make it past the Round of 16 of the 2019 tournament.
As for Comoros, the team advanced as one of the third place teams to pass through the rankings. The team recorded one win and two losses in Group C, with an upset victory over Ghana in the final match to eliminate Ghana and send Comoros ahead for the first time in history.
The team won that match 3-2, with El Fardou Mohamed Ben Nabbouhane scoring an early goal to put Comoros on the scoreboard. After that, Ahmed Mogni, a midfielder for the French team Annecy, scored a couple of goals, including the final winning goal, to lead Comoros to the knockout stage.
