Legal conflicts in the industry are more common than you think. Riot Games knows this very well, as it has sued several developers for plagiarizing and taking advantage of the success of League of Legends and other of his recent games.

In fact, the studio has just sued a Vietnam-based company for copying elements of its popular MOBA and Teamfight Tactics, one of its spin-offs. The case was presented last week before the federal court in Los Angeles, United States.

As you can imagine, Riot seeks to defend the rights of its franchise, as Imba Technology has copied character designs, texts, names, lore and other details taken directly from the world of League of Legends.

Riot lashes out at developer for copying League of Legends

Imba Technology is in charge of I Am Hero: AFK Tactical Teamfight, title for iOS and Android devices that was flagged for plagiarizing elements of League of Legends Y Teamfight Tactics. Riot was willing to fix the issue away from the courts, sending the company a cease and desist letter.

However, Imba Technology decided to ignore the notice notifying them of the problem they could face for plagiarizing elements from both games. After not receiving a response, Riot decided to proceed and file a lawsuit.

It mentions that the name of I Am Hero: AFK Tactical Teamfight and from the study itself is a clear reference to Teamfight Tactics and to the MOBA. Additionally, the game is shown to have elements such as characters, names, and stories copied directly from said titles.
