Publisher Electronic Arts and developer Respawn Entertainment will reportedly release late 2022 the sequel from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the interplanetary action adventure with a battle system in the style of Dark Souls launched at the end of 2019, according to the journalist and insider Tom Henderson on his Twitter account.
Henderson, who has previously shared accurate inside information from various companies, especially focused on the sagas Battlefield Y Call of Duty, writes on the social network: “The things get going to announce the next game of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from Respawn Entertainment.” He adds that the launch is planned for the last quarter of 2022, the same period in which the first part was released.
Things are set in motion to reveal the next Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game by Respawn Entertainment.
Following today’s announcement that LEGO Star Wars will release April 5th, a May 4th reveal now seems incredibly likely.
Neither Electronic Arts nor Respawn Entertainment have publicly commented on Henderson’s reports. The leaker goes further, pointing out that it is “increasingly probable” that the title announce may 4, the date that Disney, Lucasfilm and fans of Star Wars they celebrate the influential saga with events where advertisements of different types tend to sneak in.
Jeff Grubb, journalist from GamesBeat Y Giant Bomb, is on the same wavelength as Henderson. In early January he said about the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order: “Expected about the game in a meaningful way long before E3“. In the aforementioned podcast, he speculated that the game would be announced in May.
EA confirmed its intention to continue Jedi: Fallen Order
As of June 2021, when Respawn released the latest generation console version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, over 20 million players they had tested the adventure starring Cal Kestis by adding the purchasers of the game and those who accessed it with an EA Play subscription. A success that EA has described on several occasions as unexpected and from which they do not want to lose revenue.
Electronic Arts has not officially announced the sequel, but Blake Jorgensen, the company’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer, said last August that they will continue investing in the saga Jedi: Fallen Order. Respawn Entertainment has been expanding its ranks for years for various projects, including the game of Star Wars. EA is working on other games in the Lucasfilm series.
