To be healthy you need to have a good diet and exercise. Unfortunately, creating good habits is not always easy, much less if we try to do it as an adult.

There are fathers and mothers who are willing to do anything as long as their children have good habits from an early age. Such is the case of a mother who lives in Albuquerque, United States, who forces her children to take 12,000 steps a day if they want to play video games.

In TikTok, the mother explained that their children must give 12,000 a day during the week if they want to play video games on Saturdays and Sundays. Although the video shows one of her children running on the treadmill, the mother made it clear that her children can get their daily steps as they prefer. They also have the freedom not to exercise, but will say goodbye to video games in that case.

It is worth mentioning that the video is close to becoming very viral, adding more than 36,000 likes and has received more than 1,000 comments.

Just or exaggerated?

An idea that provoked several criticisms and compliments

It is a story that ended up generating divided opinions on TikTok. While some praise the measure and believe that it is “genius”, many others think that it is something exaggerated and that it will cause their children to have problems in the future.

Here are some of the comments the video received:

“My parents forced me to do the same when I was a child. Once I was free I became obese because I thought of exercise as a punishment,” said Dynasty_Trick_Dogs.

“How do you parents do the same? Do you exercise to earn your relaxation time? Do privileges have to be earned or are they privileges?” Reallyrealtok said.

“This is not right,” _devin12 said.

“This will not harm the children. Video games are WINNING. We cut grass and acted as babysitters. It’s the same,” commented p_m_alone.

“I don’t see anything wrong with this. I stay home 5 days a week and the only way I get to my 10,000-13,000 steps is by doing an hour of cardio and it feels amazing. It makes a difference,” said Jennifer Garcia-Vega.

While it’s easy to see why some people disagree with this, we believe it’s always important that video games are played responsibly. Hopefully it will be a measure with which these little ones know how to balance exercise and gaming so that they are healthy people who enjoy a great hobby.

And you, what do you think about it? Do you think that is a good measure or that it is exaggerated? Tell us in the comments.
