And with this report we close the sales of 2021, a strange but very fun year in terms of sales, with few surprises, yes, but with global figures that show that the strength of video games continues to be one of the main solutions or decisions in which to invest our leisure time. As you can see, this last week offers a small summary of what has been all year, with a populated list of Switch titles except for GTA 5 Y FIFA 22 of PS4.
As for the top 3, we find again FIFA 22 for PS4 as the best selling game with 25,100 units and thus passing 341,000 since its launch, making it the best-selling game this past Christmas campaign. In second position and almost seems to have been done on purpose to demonstrate his endless power, he stands GTA V for PS4 with 18,300 units and already adding a total of 1,682,000 copies, and in the absence of making numbers, surely one of the best-selling games of 2021, which indicates and demonstrates the excellent health that the Rockstar game continues to experience. The podium closes with an interesting fight over the last few weeks for third and fourth place, Just Dance 2022 for Nintendo Switch with 16,800 units and surpassing the 123,000 sold since its launch.
Of the rest of the top 10, highlight the drop in the positions of Pokémon Shiny Diamond / Shiny Pearl which has been in seventh position ending the year with almost 229,000 units sold, a figure that is not bad at all but that is somewhat short looking at the sales of previous deliveries of Pokmon. In the fifth position we have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which is still very strong in sales despite the rumors of the new installment, with a total of 768,000 units in physical format since its launch. And as the only novelty in the top compared to previous weeks comes Big Brain Academy: Battle of the Wits para Switch con 6700 units, which thanks to the strong advertising campaign in traditional media that continues to work very well for Nintendo with many of its titles now totals 22,000 units.
