Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea’s German coach, is the new ‘The Best’ coach 2021 awarded by FIFA in Zrich (Switzerland) this afternoon. The 48-year-old German has been chosen over the Spanish Pep Guardiola (City) and the Italian Roberto Mancini (Italy), the other two nominees.
Thomas signed for Chelsea in the 2021 winter market, and It took him, in a few months, to win the Champons against City, after consecutively beating Atltico de Madrid, Porto, Real Madrid and the aforementioned City. A little later, they won the European Super Cup after beating Villarreal on penalties.
Tuchel reached the final the year before with Pars Saint Germain, but I lost it. Tuchel succeeds his compatriot Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool), winner of the two previous editions, in the palmars. His words upon receiving the award were these: “I am so impressed that it even makes me uncomfortable to have won the award.” I have a very competitive team.”
