With the premise of the multiverse and the hope of seeing the spider-verse on the big screen, Spdier-Man: No Way Home was positioned as the most anticipated film of 2021. Against all odds, the film starring Tom Holland survived the hype and exceeded the expectations of fans, something that was reflected in its box office receipts.

As we told you, the Marvel film had the second best debut in the history of North America, while some time later it managed to become the most successful film from Sony Pictures. Its success did not stop at all, as it is already the eighth highest-grossing film in history globally.

Of course, Mexican fans were also eager to enjoy Peter Parker’s latest adventure. Thus, Spider-Man: No Way Home was able to break an impressive domestic box office record less than a month after its mid-December release.

Spider-Man: No Way Home breaks it in Mexico

According to data from Sony Pictures Distribution Mexico, the film of Marvel’s arachnid superhero has already raised more than $1478.8 million pesos just 4 weeks after its arrival on the national billboard. In this way, it has already managed to become the highest grossing film production in the history of our country.

To contextualize, Spider-Man: No Way Home could surpass Avengers: Endgame, a film that represented the end of the Infinity saga and that managed to raise more than $1,474 million pesos during its time in Mexican movie theaters in 2019.

Without a doubt, this is an impressive achievement for Tom Holland’s film. We must remember that, in recent weeks, the COVID-19 pandemic has set off alarms in Mexico and other countries due to the increase in cases of the new Omicron variant, which has already forced some establishments to close their doors or restrict entry.
