Interest in Crunchyroll and Funimation Increased Thanks to Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 | Levelup

After a long wait, the second part of the final season of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) finally began last Sunday, January 9, with the broadcast of the first episode. Specifically, Google searches for subscriptions for Crunchyroll increased 525% last Sunday, January 9, which coincides with the premiere of the anime. On the other hand, searches for Funimation memberships were up 1011% on the same day in Europe and America.

“It is interesting to see how searches for subscriptions to streaming services skyrocketed due to the launch of an anime. It shows that worldwide interest in anime has increased in recent years and popular series such as Attack on Titan helped increase demand for Japanese animation, ”wrote a VPNOverview spokesperson.

Finally, the premiere of the second part of the last season of the anime caused the streaming services to experience technical problems and interruptions for several hours. This as a consequence of the high user traffic.
