Mortal Kombat is a franchise that revolutionized the industry and fighting games by using real actors, which brought to life the fighters of the original arcade games. It is simply impossible to forget Daniel Pesina’s Johhny Cage or Kerri Hoskins’ Sonya Blade. Unfortunately, the years passed and this technique was put aside to use 3D models.

In Mortal Kombat 11however, a face scan technique was employed. In this way, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Kitana and the rest of the human fighters have the faces of real models and actors. With this in mind, many fans wish to see the return of the people who brought these characters’ first interpretations to life.

Ed Boon would like to make skins of the original Mortal Kombat actors

Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat and current creative director of NetherRealm Studios, spoke on Twitter about the possibility of bringing the original actors to the most recent installments of the franchise.

Specifically, the American creative revealed that the studio repeatedly discussed how great it would be to make a pack of skins of the original actors who participated in the titles for Arcade. He emphasizes that it would be a situation similar to that experienced with the skins inspired by the first movie of Mortal Kombat 1995.

The NetherRealm Studios director’s remarks were well received by the community and dozens of fans quickly expressed their enthusiasm for the idea. However, and because Mortal Kombat 11 will no longer receive new content, players will have to wait for the release of a hypothetical Mortal Kombat 12 to find out if said skin pack manages to materialize.
