EA investigates hack of FIFA 22 accounts | Levelup

However, in the case of popular games that move a lot of money, it is fertile ground for some to seek to take advantage of illegitimate and illegal way and this is what just happened with some players of FIFA 22 Y FIFA Ultimate Team.

A series of requests to change the email and password were enough to enter

According to various user reports, there have just been several attempts to hack accounts of FIFA 22 Y FIFA Ultimate Team. This time it was not a situation related to the use of malicious software, because what happened was that after obtaining the usernames of streamers and enthusiasts of WAS, those involved requested the support of EA’s online chat arguing that they required a mail change for the account and that they had forgotten their access credentials and passwords.

The problem was that, in some cases and surely derived from the fact that this type of attention is carried out by third parties and not by personnel directly related to the companies, the requests were accepted, the hackers were able to enter the accounts and emptied them of coins for the game and players cards.

After the situation was made public, an EA representative confirmed that the company is already investigating the matter and took the opportunity to recommend that users activate 2-step authentication as a protection measure.
