The James Bond films are based on the novels and short stories by Ian Fleming, first published in 1953. There are 27 films in total, 25 of which were produced by Eon Productions. Eon, founded by producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, now owns the rights to all of Fleming’s novels.
Throughout the Bond franchise, six actors have played the elegant and elegant agent: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. (A seventh, David Niven, played Bond in the non-Eon version of Casino Royale.) And with Craig’s career drawing to a close, we’ve already been pondering who could replace him as the next James Bond.
The Bond films have attracted a fervent fan base and the franchise has become one of the most iconic in Hollywood history.
