Pokémon Legends: Arceus Video Shows How Stealth Can Help Catch Pokémon

A new video for Pokémon Legends: Arceus highlights how using stealth can make it easier to catch Pokémon in the wild.

Many gamers have had a childhood fantasy of exploring a world full of Pokémon, and while that is not possible in real life, Pokémon Legends: Arceus it is shaping up to be the most authentic way to live that dream that players have received so far. A new clip highlights one of the ways players will be able to get closer to catching new Pokémon in the upcoming RPG.

On Twitter, Nintendo shared a brief Pokémon Legends: Arceus game clip that highlights its stealth mechanics. While fans are used to looking for Pokémon hiding in tall grass, it seems like the opposite will be the case this time around, as players duck into the foliage and sneak up on unsuspecting wildlife. The Pokémon catching mechanic has stayed more or less the same across the mainline inputs, so it seems like a big change.

Yet everywhere Pokémon Legends: Arceus it is a departure from the norms of the series. It puts players in the shoes of a coach much earlier than fans have seen in many of the previous games, and it even offers primitive versions of the Poke Balls that have become the defining icon of the entire franchise. It’s not quite the open world Pokemon game fans were hoping for based on initial teasers, but it doesn’t seem that far off either.

Reaction to the clip has been relatively positive, although there seems to be some concern among fans about how Pokémon Legends: Arceus is taking shape. Despite its release only a few weeks away, Nintendo hasn’t shown much, and its place on the timeline means it won’t be a mainstream experience. However, that could be good.
