This year marks the 10th anniversary of the LCS, the professional league of League of Legends North America, and Riot Games is gearing up to celebrate. Today, the company revealed that there are plans in place to commemorate how far teams, players and fans have come since its humble beginnings in 2012.

In a series of events running throughout 2022, the LCS will look back on some of the greatest moments in its history. Side shows like The Dive and Next Level will also feature special guests to connect the tournament’s past and present.

“Familiar faces will appear on the stream as we look back on iconic LCS moments,” Riot Games said on its blog. “We will air special episodes of our LCS shows throughout the season.”

The celebrations are scheduled to culminate with the 2022 LCS championship, which will likely take place in late summer. Last year’s inaugural final was originally planned to be played at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, but COVID-19 protocols moved the tournament to the LCS studio in Los Angeles. Dates and locations for the final of LCS 2022 are expected to be revealed later this year.

Like last year, the LCS will kick off unofficially with the Lock-In tournament on January 14. This will be an opportunity to see the new LCS rosters before the regular season begins. The official start of the LCS has yet to be revealed, but it is expected to be shortly after the conclusion of the Lock-In tournament.
