The results of the 2021 Steam Awards are included in all the awards won, although the coveted winner of the Game of the Year award may surprise some users.
Even if Vapor has been around since the early 2000s, the Steam Awards have only been around since 2016. The digital awards event serves to highlight the best games released on Steam over the course of the last year. While this year provided a substantial number of nominees for each Steam Awards category, the Game of the Year winner may surprise some players.
Fortunately, 2021 produced some impressive Game of the Year nominations for the Steam Awards. Titles like Valheim, Resident Evil Village, Cyberpunk 2077, Nuevo Mundo, Y Forza Horizon 5 all became part of the Game of the Year award. However, the game that will ultimately surpass all other nominations is one that certainly has a lot to offer its players.
Of the five nominations, Resident Evil Village won Game of the Year at the 2021 Steam Awards. Many members of the gaming community may find it odd that a horror game beat out the other nominations, but considering its detailed story, multi-faceted gameplay mechanics, and intense atmosphere, Resident Evil Village he’s definitely a worthy contender for Game of the Year.
In addition to Game of the Year, the Steam Awards also feature several unique categories, each with numerous nominations. VR kitchen simulator won Best Virtual Reality Game. It takes two won the Better With Friends category, which is intended to represent excellence in multiplayer. Although, there are still several more award winners that Steam unveiled, each with exciting results.
Terraria won the Labor of Love category, after continuing to receive new content for its players ten years after its initial release. Forza Horizon 5 won outstanding visual style. Deathloop won the most innovative game. Nioh 2 won the Best Game You Suck At award for its intense and brutal difficulty. Guardians of the Galaxy won Best Soundtrack. Farming Simulator 22 won the Sit Back And Relax award for his laid back play. Finally, Cyberpunk 2077 he won the Outstanding Game with Story Good, despite his ongoing technical problems.
It will be interesting to see what 2022 brings in terms of upcoming Steam titles. This year saw a surprising number of independent releases from various studios and developers, who contributed a lot, such as Encryption, twelve minutes, Y Moncage. All of which was highlighted during the 2021 Steam Awards. Hopefully, 2022 will provide Vapor players with many new and creative experiences to enjoy and discover.
