Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game will blur the line between different media

Kojima Productions he’s working on two video games. The founder of the study, Hideo Kojima, points out in a short interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu (translated by Gematsu) that with one of those titles they pretend blur the line that separates the various cultural industries (video games, movies, music, etc.).

The creator of Death Stranding Y Metal Gear Solid mentions that one of those games is “a title that is a new challenge.” “As the limits of entertainment will disappear In the near future, I would like to make this year one in which we step forward by challenging different media and expressions [culturales]”.

The Japanese author’s remarks come after Kojima Productions announced in November the opening of a Los Angeles studio dedicated to cinema, television and music. The goal of the team led by Riley Russell (General Counsel and Vice President of Business Affairs at Sony Interactive Entertainment for 28 years) is to expand the intellectual properties of the firm, What Death Stranding, to other media.

The “big” game: maybe a Silent Hill?

Going back to the statements that Kojima made in Famitsu, the studio led by the Japanese creative is also working on another title. One of the two rates it as “great” and the other as “new, challenging”. Perhaps the latter is the project at hand with which he intends to mix different forms of entertainment.

As for that “big” game, there is no official information, but in October the rumor took shape (which as such, must be taken with a grain of salt) that Kojima Productions is working together with Konami and Sony Interactive Entertainment in a new installment of Silent Hill. When Kojima left Konami after the release of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain I was working on Silent Hills, a title in which Guillermo del Toro collaborated. The game was canceled after a playable trailer (P.T.).
