Today began 2021 and several have been the developers who have celebrated this with their followers. One of them is Square Enix, as Naokki Yoshida, one of the main creatives of the franchise Final Fantasy, took the opportunity to share an endearing message with the fans and in it he reveals his first plans to continue with Final Fantasy XIV.
How you remember, Endwalker, the most recent expansion of the MMORPG title, debuted last December and with it ended the narrative arc that has developed since the premiere of Final Fantasy XIV Online, in almost 11 years.
However, the game is far from over, but its story will continue and Naoki Yoshida, director and producer of the project, hopes that there will be more than 10 years of support for the title.

When will we know more about the future of Final Fantasy XIV?
In a letter he published on New Year’s Eve, the creative confirmed that he and his development team have already started working on more content and said that the game’s characters are ready for “a new beginning”, but does not explain further details.
According to Yoshida, the first step of this interesting future will be with patch 6.1 and before it arrives, the team will share the first details of the future of the title, although it did not offer a date for the announcement.
Yoshida remembers that Final Fantasy XIV It has been more than 10 years since its launch, and he reiterated that he has not been bored with the project (which he considers his life project), despite the fact that he has been in command for 12 years and considers that there is still much more that the game can offer .
The developer explains that that many years is a brand that all MMORPs should aspire to and hopes that there will be another decade of support for the game and not only that, since he said that his goal is that future content is better than Endwalker, something that, in his words, is “difficult to overcome”, but he is confident that together with his team he will achieve it.
Also, to embellish the message, Yoshida shared a great commemorative illustration that we leave you below.
