Director of Final Fantasy XV will reveal his new project next year | Levelup

Hajime Tabata, creative best known for being the director of Final Fantasy XV, left Square Enix in 2018 to form his own studio. Since then we have little known what JP Games is up to, but that will change next year.

4Gamer, Japanese magazine, published an article in which different creatives revealed what their plans are for 2022. There, Tabata revealed that his plan is to announce a new JRPG in 2022, so it is a matter of months for us to know the first JP Games project.

In the article, Tabata also noted that his goal is that by 2022 JP Games can expand its business in the world of video games and in the metaverse.

Who is Hajime Tabata?

Hajime Tabata is a creative who began his career in the video game industry in 1994. This when collaborating on a game of the Super Champions.

Little by little he was promoted until he had the opportunity to be the project manager as Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII y Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. In recent years he is best known for being the director of Final Fantasy XV, the main installment of the franchise of the past generation of consoles.

It was in November 2018, when Tabata left Square Enix and Luminous Productions. This led to the cancellation of different projects related to the study and Final Fantasy XV.

In December 2018, Tabata announced the founding of JP Games, Inc, his current studio.
