Red Dead Redemption 2: a mod covers the entire map with snow

Adventure in Red Dead Redemption 2, which debuted in 2018, begins precisely in some icy mountain scenery covered with snow. Obviously not all the game is like this and later we will explore sunnier fields, forests and small towns, but What if the entire game remained under a constant blizzard? This is what a mod for the PC version called Simple Snow.

The youtuber Supreme Dear Leader has released this mod that features a more wintery version of Red Dead Redemption 2 with the city of Saint-Denis covered by a layer of snow. This weather effect doesn’t make much sense in many of the game’s regions, but it can be used to see familiar villages and landscapes from a different perspective. Also, as we can see, Arthur’s clothing reacts to snow the same as in the original sections where these weather conditions appeared.

The instructions for activating Simple Snow are straightforward. You just have to download the files and choose between Light Snow.asi The Max Snow.asi, which should be placed in the main folder. The first leaves New Austin in its normal state while the rest have a light snow; the second covers the whole game.

Is Red Dead Redemption 3 already in development?

We do not know if we will have to wait eight years to see another sequel to the saga, but last November a first clue indicating that the development of Red Dead Redemption 3 has started. The mention can be read on a programmer’s résumé stating “two years of experience leading the artificial intelligence team of RDR 3 and other projects “; in the past he had worked on Red Dead Redemption 2 The GTA V. Yes, we may still have to wait a long time, just like with Grand Theft Auto 6, which seems to take years to arrive.
