Netflix announces ‘Bridgerton’ season 2 premiere date with plot details

Last Christmas, Netflix debuted Bridgerton—Shondaland’s first series for the streaming giant, a Regency of England drama that instantly became a worldwide sensation. To commemorate the first anniversary of the premiere of the popular series, Netflix and Shondaland today announced the release date of Bridgerton Season 2 with a dated announcement video. The next installment will debut on Friday, March 25.

Several returning and new cast members break the news of the show’s return by reading an ad from Lady Whistledown herself. While Netflix has already provided a detailed synopsis for the new season, which is based on the novel by author Julia Quinn. The viscount who loved me that continues the Bridgerton story. The clip, however, provides even more detail on the season’s top stories.

You can see the clip above, with the characters Bailey and Ashley, Rosheuval and Andoh, as well as Newton, Jessie and Chandran, all dressed in street clothes.

Season 2 of Bridgerton, which is again directed by series creator Chris Van Dusen, will follow Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), Bridgerton’s older brother and viscount, as he sets out to find a suitable wife. This becomes a challenge in this traditional society, as Anthony is motivated by his duty to defend the family name.

Her search for a partner who meets her impossible standards seems unfeasible until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) arrive from India. When Anthony begins to woo Edwina, Kate discovers that the Lord is not primarily looking for love and is on a mission to stop the union. However, Kate and Anthony’s arguments only bring them closer together, making things a bit more complicated for everyone.
