G2 Esports jungler Jankos shared some thoughts on the 2021 season, revealing possible scenarios that may have happened during the recent preseason.

In an interview with CybersportsJankos confessed that at some point all the players in the organization saw their future at risk; however, the fact of being on the tightrope did not seem negative to him.

“I was not so scared because, as I mentioned a moment ago, in my opinion the changes were necessary. If they had removed me from the team, I would have accepted it. I think the other players approached the subject in a similar way,” he commented.

During the early stages of G2’s rebuilding, it seemed like everyone’s position was in doubt.
“I sincerely hope that no one feels cheated,” said the 26-year-old jungler. “Nothing happened behind the back of the players, everyone knew what was coming, the decisions were communicated correctly.”

Mikyx’s case, however, appears to have suffered from some level of miscommunication. After running out of equipment, the support clashed on Twitter with the owner of G2, Carlos “Ocelote” Rodríguez, over the issue of his purchase and possible transfers earlier this month.

Although Mikyx does not share the same opinion, Jankos took an optimistic perspective regarding the preseason. “Yes, there was a possibility that he would not play with G2 in 2022,” he said. “I think it would have been good for me. In another formation I could spread my wings even more and learn something new.”

Now the Polish jungle seems to have a safe place in its old home. The G2 lineup for 2022 will consist of Broken Blade, Jankos, Caps, Flakked, and Targamas.

While it is true that newcomer players have cast some doubt on the most successful team in the LEC, this new version of G2 will have a chance to shut up when it debuts on January 14.
