Since its surprise launch in November, the multiplayer of Halo Infinite became one of the most popular free-to-play on the market. However, it is undeniable that it is not a hassle-free experience. As proof of this we have the case of a recent bug that has the potential to cause you to lose a game unfairly.

As you surely know, the 343 Industries shooter incorporates bots, that is, artificial intelligence players. These appear in custom games or when there are empty slots on a team.

In case you missed it: Impressive! Halo Infinite player won 100 consecutive games

On paper, bots leave games once human players join in and fill in the empty spaces. However, a mysterious error causes that the latter does not happen and, consequently, there are teams of up to 6 participants in 4vs4 games. This results in one side having an advantage over the other.

As explained by the portal Kotaku, this situation is particularly problematic in some playlists. For example, in Strongholds, a game mode where participants must capture and hold zones, the side with the most players has an advantage by being able to cover more ground. By contrast, the bot team is at a disadvantage in Slayer mode, as opponents can take out the AI for easy points.

One reddit user was the one who detected and reported this error a month ago. Unfortunately, the problem persists to this day and, while not particularly common, it has the potential to undermine the experience. Hopefully 343 Industries is aware of this situation and provides a solution as soon as possible.

Certainly the bots of Halo Infinite were a hot topic even before the game’s official launch. We must remember that, during the Beta, they terrorized players with their superhuman abilities and their behavior that, to some extent, simulated toxic attitudes of the community.

But tell us, have you ever played a game against a team with more players? Let us read you in the comments.
