Steam shows the games that have won the most money this year: Valheim, New Word, CS: GO …

Every end of the year it is usual for Valve to offer us a website with “The best of 2021“(in this case), collecting the games that have made the most money, the most popular new releases, the most played titles or the best in virtual reality.

Beginning with best sellers, this category lists the 100 games that scored higher revenue on Steam during this year, including the original game, its DLC or the transactions within it. What it does not offer us is a numerical ranking as such, but instead divides its tops into four different “divisions”: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

This year in the category Platinum we come across some important releases like Valheim (one of the first surprises of the year), New World (Amazon’s first big hit) or Battlefield 2042 (the controversial shooter by EA and DICE), accompanied by other games already common in this ranking such as GTA V, CS:GO, Apex Legends, DOTA 2 The PUBG. Then tennis the complete list with the “platinum” games that have generated the most money on Steam in 2021:

  • Valheim
  • Battlefield 2042, Naraka: Bladepoint
  • Destiny 2
  • New World
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • Dead by Daylight
  • PUBG
  • DOTA 2
  • Apex Legends
  • GTA V
  • CS:GO

The best VR experiences

Also, this year Steam also offers us a category that allows us to know which have been the best exclusive Virtual Reality experiences of this 2021 taking into account, as with previous games, the gross income each. This year has been particularly good in this regard as they have premiered “500+ new VR-only games released throughout the year. Many of these releases made this year’s best-seller list, which includes dozens of newcomers. The Platinum category is made up of the following:

  • Pavlol
  • super hot VR
