Guerrilla Games made a quick appearance at The Game Awards 2021 by unveiling a new gameplay trailer for West horizon forbidden. The trailer wasn’t as deep as some of the dev diaries we’ve seen in recent weeks, but it did show off some new game biomes that we can look forward to exploring when the game launches in the new year, and even gave us our first look at a selection of new costumes and face paintings.
Most notable in the new trailer is the variety of outfits and outfits Aloy dresses up in – there are a few looks you might recognize from the first game, along with a whole new aesthetic as well.
Check out the new trailer below.
The most enthusiastic of you may even notice that there are also a lot of new machines in the mix. Our personal favorite is that great mechanical snake – an engineering feat in its own right, the way it moves (and the threat it certainly poses) simply ignites a threat. Charming.
There’s also a quick look at large and heavy mechanical mammoths, monkeys, pterodactyls, and many more. I hope we don’t have to kill them all, huh?
Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Guerrilla Games recently delayed Horizon Forbidden West to February 18, 2022, pushing it back from its previously planned 2021 holiday release window. The game will be released on both PS4 and PS5, despite the publisher formally saying that it would be a PlayStation 5 exclusive release.
