The New Year is just around the corner and Niantic, as on other occasions, is preparing a great party to celebrate with the fans of Pokémon GO. Details were released today and there will be several bonuses and themed Pokémon.

The New Years event will begin on December 31 at 10:00 PM and will be available until Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 8:00 PM (local time). As with other end-of-the-year events, creatures in festive costumes will appear at the event. The great addition will be Hoothoot with a New Year’s hat, as it will mark the debut of the Pokémon in its shiny or variocolor form. After the event is over, the shiny shape will be permanently available (no disguise).

Here we leave you with a list of Pokémon that will appear in the event.

Find out: A new LEVEL UP t-shirt is now available, run for yours.

Additionally, there will be fireworks from December 31 at night until midnight on January 2. This event will also be very special because there will be double Stardust and Candy bonuses per hatching and the Eggs will require only half the usual distance.

During the event, players will be able to complete Research Tasks and a Temporary Research, which will feature encounters with featured Pokémon. Finally, in the in-game store there will be cosmetic items for the avatar related to the New Year, as well as stickers, which can also be obtained as gifts and PokéStops.
