A few days ago we told you that Tesla was in the crosshairs of the United States government for a function related to video games. This situation has already escalated and the authorities began an investigation into this company.
This week, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched an investigation into Tesla and the video game functionality of their cars. To be specific, they are reviewing the Passenger Play feature, which allows the car to run video games while on the move.
We remind you that a report from The New York Times revealed that a Tesla update allows video games to run while the car is in motion. While it is a function designed for the passenger to take advantage of, there is also no kind of lock or padlock that effectively prevents the driver from playing games while the car is in motion.
In case you didn’t know, Tesla cars feature the Tesla Arcade feature. It is about the possibility of enjoying games like Cuphead Y Sonic the Hedgehog on the car screen. Originally this feature only worked with the vehicle parked, but that changed with an update that arrived last year.
With this investigation, it is expected that the authorities determine if it is necessary for Tesla to modify the function of its cars to avoid accidents. It is estimated that about 580,000 vehicles are part of the investigation.
And you, what do you think about it? Do you think the government will do anything to modify this Tesla feature? Tell us in the comments.
