The scandal that surrounds Activision-Blizzard, caused by all its labor problems, has also been an opportunity for some workers to be encouraged to tell what they have experienced in the company and to raise their voices in search of a change. Recently, this opportunity was taken advantage of by workers at Treyarch, one of the studios of Call of Duty, to fix your position on the situation.
Treyarch is the first studio to talk about the issues at Activision-Blizzard
Through a publication on the official Treyarch Twitter account, the studio shared a statement about the situation that prevails in Activision-Blizzard and that has given visibility to an endless number of situations of harassment, discrimination and labor exploitation in the company of video game. Initially, the statement was surprising as it was the first by a company study, something unexpected since the others have opted for silence. He then followed suit by pointing to zero tolerance for issues that have plagued developers for years at Activision-Blizzard:
As we look ahead to 2022, we felt that it was important to share a few thoughts… pic.twitter.com/lWdEaZVN4w

“Our goal as a studio is to make incredible games for the world to enjoy. Having the privilege of pursuing that endeavor is made possible by the folks at Treyarch. We are a studio comprised of world-class, talented and intelligent creative professionals who seek to perform at their best. Our culture has no room for sexism, harassment, racism, bigotry, discrimination or bullying. As we move forward, providing a safe, diverse and inclusive work environment for everyone to thrive will be our top priority Everyone at Treyarch is drawn to game development because we have a deep love for the art of video games and magic that can create moments that matter. This is a moment that matters and it starts with being better. “
The women of Treyarch have taken the initiative to change things
A day after this statement was published by Treyarch, it was announced that it was the work of a group of workers who decided to establish their position, as revealed by Miranda Due, associate producer of the study, who highlighted the effort made is doing it to change things and provide decent conditions for workers in what appears to be a team initiative, as Activision-Blizzard still does not act fully.
Happy that Treyarch have finally release the statement. This is not a PR stunt, but a sincere and heartfelt statement from the women of Treyarch. 1/5💙 https://t.co/VJWJAt17xS
