Niantic shows how well Pokémon GO and its other games fared in 2021 | Levelup

The year that is about to end, although the effects of the pandemic were still strong, it was a very good one for Niantic and its mobile titles. Thanks to various measures, the community was able to continue playing, especially Pokémon GO, and Niantic has just shared relevant data that shows the great performance of its titles in 2021.

December, the last month of the year, is always a good time to reflect on what has been done in the past 12 months, and Niantic took the opportunity to release their 2021 recap.

In total, among all Niantic games, users around the world walked 6930 million kilometers and made 367 million friendships through the game, although we do not doubt that many more have been in real life thanks to the more than 50 community events that were organized around the world.

According to the information, Korean players were the ones who walked the most (9.4 km per player on average), followed by those from Taiwan (8.87 km per player) and in third place was the Latin American country Brazil (5.53 km per person). There were even more than 2 million players who walked on average more than 5 km per day.

The pandemic didn’t stop games and Niantic from having a great year

Niantic game users can add PokéStops, Gyms or other landmarks to the game and during 2021 3.8 million were added.

In Ingress, players deployed 872 million Resonators and reloaded 354 billion XM to their Resonators. Users walked to complete more than 2.9 million Kinetic Capsule Programs and their Mark I Drones jumped more than 43 million times.
