This Halo Infinite glitch is deleting players’ save files

Some players find that their save files are getting corrupted in Halo Infinite.

So far, Halo Infinite has had a successful campaign and multiplayer launch, garnering a ton of positive reviews from players and critics alike. However, there seems to be a major glitch that some players have reported is corrupting their save game files.

The game already has some known issues for Xbox Game Pass users on PC where it just won’t start. However, those who managed to start the game now face a different problem by losing their progress in the game.

As seen by VG247, several fans reported this issue on Resetera Y Halo landmark forums. These complaints look pretty similar: Gamers end up with corrupted game files and are forced to start over, both on Xbox and PC.

A Resetera user shared a video discussing how the bug actually corrupts your game files. The same post also mentions how there could be a double login prompt that actually triggers this error and players should avoid logging in again to protect their save files. Along with that, the post also details a number of reasons why the double login message appears and how players should be careful when trying to avoid it.

So far, it appears that this bug is affecting the Steam, Xbox, and Windows Store versions of the game. In addition to this, it is also affecting multiplayer to some extent and players are reportedly spawning in the middle of the floor.

If this bug weren’t enough, there is also a desync issue that plagues the game. This issue was also spotted by a gamer who even received a response from a 343 Industries developer thanking him for reporting it. So far, the community seems to have done a good job of reporting major glitches with the game, which has definitely made things a bit easier for 343.

Halo Infinite is already facing issues with cheaters, and now that this game-breaking bug is affecting the single-player campaign, there are issues that need to be resolved. Despite this, the sentiment around the game is positive and due to 343’s excellent communication all of these issues should be addressed and fixed soon.
