Without a doubt, Twisted Metal is a flagship franchise for PlayStation that marked the fifth generation of consoles. Sadly, since 2012 we have not seen a new installment and, beyond the production of a television series, the intellectual property seems to be in an eternal slumber. Luckily, a new clue suggests that this situation could change very soon.
Years ago, the return of this mythical saga of extreme motorsport seemed quite difficult. However, in recent months, multiple rumors began to emerge indicating that Lucid Games, the studio responsible for Destruction All-Stars, works on the adventure of Sweet Tooth and company.
Although the project still lacks official confirmation, this week a new clue appeared that seems to reinforce these first reports.

Drew Williams-Rostron, Technical Designer at Lucid Games, updated his Linkedin profile and disclosed that he worked on an unannounced AAA game of a flagship IP for PlayStation 5. While he does not disclose the name of the project, the description seems to match the rumors that emerged over the summer.
According to the information provided on the social network, the technical designer collaborated on the project from August 2020 to October 2021. Of course, there are no accurate details that 100% support the existence of a new delivery of Twisted Metal, so we must arm ourselves with patience and wait for a formal announcement.
Finally, Kristjan Zadziuk, animation director at Lucid Games, posted on his LinkedIn profile that the studio is working on more than one project. One of them is an unannounced open world video game.
