Apple Fitness Plus just got three big updates to take on Peloton

Apple Fitness Plus is getting three new features to make your workouts more inclusive of people that fitness apps tend to forget about.

The update It will launch on Monday (April 19) and will add specific workouts for pregnancy and seniors. It will also include a slew of new beginner workouts, which Apple claims are designed to help users develop confidence in their abilities, regardless of their current fitness level.

The pregnancy workouts include 10 different options that focus on strength, core, and “mindful cool down.” Each lasts 10 minutes and has been designed to suit users of different fitness levels at any stage of their pregnancy. They can be done alone or as part of Fitness Plus weekly studio workouts.

Senior workouts are designed to help users stay active, no matter their age. Here, the focus is on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and mobility. Again, these are 10 minutes long and can be done alone or with other Fitness workouts.

Beginners will have access to more yoga, strength, and HIIT workouts. The emphasis is on people who are just starting out, who simply return to exercising after a break, or who generally consider themselves beginners in all things fitness. They are all designed to be low impact and easy to follow so that everyone can feel comfortable doing a little basic exercise.

In addition to this, Apple Fitness is also getting a bunch of smaller updates that everyone can enjoy. That includes new Yoga and HIIT trainers, and a new episode of ‘Time to Walk’ starring Jane Fonda. Fonda’s episode ties into Earth Day (April 22) and will focus on the actress facing her own fears and taking action in the fight against climate change.

A subscription to Apple Fitness Plus is $ 10 per month, or $ 80 per year, and can be shared between six different family members. You can also get three months free if you buy an Apple Watch Series 3 or newer, or save money when you combine it with other Apple services as part of the Plan Premier Apple One.
