Today, Acend won the Berlin Champions League and defeated Gambit in a 5-map marathon series, becoming the first official world champion of VALORANT. The team beat their rivals 3 – 2 and took home $ 350,000 to claim the coveted title.
Gambit also had an incredible streak: he came in 2nd place and received $ 150,000 USD as a prize. The Russian organization was a favorite before the tournament started, having won the Stage 3 Masters a few months ago. Furthermore, he beat KRÜ in an incredibly close match on Saturday to earn his place in the final.

Acend came into this contest as a kind of dark horse because he had not been very successful on the international stage before the Champions League. This squad, however, proved their hierarchy, making what seemed like a fairy tale come true. After winning his group 2 – 0, he overwhelmingly left Team Secret and Team Liquid on the road, before overtaking Gambit.
Thus concluded the 2021 season of VALORANT Champions Tour. During the year, Riot organized several regional Challengers tournaments, 2 international Masters and the Champions. Sentinels won the first Masters in Iceland and Gambit took victory in the second in Berlin.
Yesterday, Riot Games revealed a schedule for the 2022 season, which also includes 3 Masters, and will close again with the VALORANT Champions 2022 in September. To learn more, follow this link.
