Despite debuting more than a year ago, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla continues to be updated with new content. Recently, Ubisoft released the first details of a new update that will debut next week and that will introduce multiple improvements that players will appreciate. However, not everything is honey on flakes.

In a blog post, the company revealed that players will have to download the entire game again to install patch 1.4.1. This is because the new version introduces a data restructuring in the base game, which, according to the developers, is necessary for future content.

Of course, Ubisoft confirmed that it will only be necessary to download the base game, since the expansions will not be affected by this restructuring process.

New Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Update Introduces Major Improvement

Luckily, this new update significantly reduces the size of the game and the space it occupies on our hard drive. Therefore, we believe that re-downloading it is worth it.

“The next update consolidates the game files, resulting in a smaller size on all platforms. Additionally, performance should improve with this data restructuring, with faster load times, improved data transmission and overall higher performance, ”the company explained.

Here’s how much space you can save on each platform after installing patch 1.4.1:

  • PC: 34 GB
  • PS4: 30 GB
  • PS5: 13 GB
  • Xbox One: 30 GB
  • Xbox Series X|S: 44 GBX

Regardless of how annoying it can be to download and install the game again, having more hard drive space will always be good news. This is especially true considering that Ubisoft is already working on a new season of content for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

But tell us, what do you think of this situation? Let us read you in the comments.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC. You can learn more about this Ubisoft game by clicking here.
