Advance Wars Versions 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp and Pre-Order Bonuses

A remake of Advance Wars was one of the last things fans had come to expect from Nintendo’s E3 Direct. The last Advance Wars game, Days of Ruin, was released for the Nintendo DS in 2008, and the franchise has been dormant ever since.

Despite the popularity of the series, which spans 13 impressive titles if we count the Game Boy, Famicom, Super Famicom and Battalion Wars games, we are not expecting a limited edition version of the game due to the series being silent for up to view.

That said, we wouldn’t be surprised to see some physical pre-order bonuses pop up to incentivize pre-orders before the game’s launch. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but we will update this page regularly to reflect any new pre-orders and pre-order bonuses.

Will there be a new Advance Wars?

These completely ‘rebooted’ versions of Advance Wars 1 + 2 could be Nintendo’s tests if the buzz around Advance Wars is still there. Re-Boot Camp sales figures will ultimately determine whether Nintendo decides to go ahead with a new title (if there isn’t one in development, sure!)

Will Advance Wars Re-Boot Camp have a map editor and a war room?

While the initial reveal focused on mentioning the campaigns, Nintendo Treehouse’s extended presentation reiterated that Re-Boot Camp is a full remake of both games. With that in mind, we hope map editors, war room, and modes vs. be there, especially with a four-player co-op mode officially confirmed.
