Bobby Kotick, missing Pokémon, and an intense sex scene with Lady Gaga are just some of TheGamer’s best features this week.
Happy friday friends. It’s that time of the week once again where we ponder some of the best features written by the team at TheGamer, because we’re so modest like that. With big releases like Arcane and Endwalker, there has been a lot to talk about.
We also have some fun features that focus on the overly graphic sex scene in House of Gucci, and a scientific look at every Pokemon missing from Gen 8.
The best way to enjoy League of Legends is to pretend the MOBA doesn’t exist
The first feature we want to highlight comes from our new main feature editor, Jade King. Unsurprisingly, it has some serious gay cartoon vibes and we wouldn’t do it any other way. In the article, Jade argues that League of Legends is best enjoyed if you simply pretend the MOBA doesn’t exist. After all, Arcane proves that the League of Legends universe is far richer when it’s not bogged down by a toxic community and a complicated set of rules.
Classification of the 63 Pokémon that are not in Gen 8
For our next feature, we have feature editor Ben Sledge, who is quickly proving to be the site’s new Pokémon master, as he ranks the 63 Pokémon that don’t appear in Gen 8. As Ben says, it’s the ‘tier list of Pokémon that nobody asked for «. In the article, Ben ranks all the Pokemon that are not encoded in Gen 8, from Minior to Komola. Yes, those are real Pokémon. However, he had to check it out.
The hardest part of Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker says goodbye to old friends
Alright, we’re done having fun with Pokémon science, it’s time to get solemn. In this role, lead guide editor Meg Pelliccio opens up about her feelings for Endwalker, and it’s not all hype and positivity. Meg remembers how she originally came from Final Fantasy 11 with a group of friends and how they all went through Final Fantasy 14 together for a while as well. Unfortunately, Meg is only left to Endwalker, although she may make new friends in the latest expansion.
Bobby Kotick should have been kicked out of the gaming industry years ago
In this role, senior news editor Rhiannon Bevan writes about Activision CEO Bobby Kotick and how he should have been kicked out of the gaming industry years before the most recent controversies. Kotick’s known track record of laying off employees, sending a death threat to an employee, and generally being an egregious person makes it clear that he is someone without whom the industry would be better off and should have looked back a long time ago.
House of Gucci made me feel like I was having sex with Lady Gaga and I hated it
Finally, let’s end with some good old-fashioned sex. Speaking of sex, the technology isn’t there yet anyway. In this article, Editor-in-Chief Stacey Henley talks about how the House of Gucci sex scene made her feel like she was having with Lady Gaga. Worse still, she hated him. Stacey describes the scene as too graphic and detailed, despite not having nudity. Sometimes less is more, huh?
