He recently gave all his support to the victims, but said that he also wants to give them the opportunity to show their projects. Keighley talks about Activision Blizzard scandals and his involvement in TGA

Activision Blizzard has a presence at The Game Awards 2021 as some of its most popular franchises are nominated among potential winners. Keighley stated that the company as such is not part of the event beyond the nominations.

The presenter explained that his goal with The Game Awards is to celebrate the industry and video games, the largest form of entertainment in the world. For this reason, “there is no place for abuse, harassment or predatory practices in any company or community.”

Keighley said that The Game Awards is a great platform that can help accelerate positive changes for the industry, especially to create safe spaces where everyone feels good. This will be reflected sooner or later in better work environments and great games.

“We are committed to that, but we must all work together to build a better and more inclusive environment so that everyone feels safe to build the best games in the world. We are all responsible for this standard. Amazing games, and the talented developers who create them, are who we want to celebrate, ”Keighley said in a Twitter thread.

Keighley received criticism for his comments on Activision Blizzard

Part of the community celebrated the position of the organizer of The Game Awards on all the problems that plague Activision Blizzard. However, some players criticized him for the way he handles the situation.

Many believe that Keighley should also speak out on other industry controversies and scandals, such as those at Ubisoft and Electronic Arts. The fact that Rob Kostich, president of Activision, is part of the advisory council of the event was also demanded to him.

Finally, other players accused him of simply doing damage control with his messages on Twitter. Meanwhile, Bobby Kotick conditioned his departure from the studio and it is unclear if Activision Blizzard’s situation will improve anytime soon.
