Similarities to Bloodborne Weren’t Intentional, Claim Lies of P Devs | Levelup

At the beginning of November, the first gameplay of Lies of P, a video game with soulslike elements starring Pinocchio. Of course, it didn’t take long for fans to find similarities, both in terms of aesthetics and playability, with Bloodborne. Recently the studio responsible for the project spoke about this topic and revealed more details about the development of the game.

What happens is that a member of NeoWiz, editor of Lies of P, had an email interview with the portal Kotaku where he addressed the supposed similarities that exist between Pinocchio’s adventure and From Software’s masterpiece.

“Although we are very honored that many players felt the ‘atmosphere Bloodborne‘through our trailer release, it was definitely not intentional. Even so, Bloodborne and other similar titles are certainly inspiring and almost everyone on our team is a staunch fan of the souls genre, “said Ji-won Choi, Lead Producer for NeoWiz.

Ji-won Choi also explains that From Software’s obsessive attention to detail in video games is his main source of inspiration. Likewise, he did not hesitate to classify the members of that study as authentic artisans due to their very high level of refinement.

Finally, the producer acknowledges that Lies of P it has some aspects similar to Soulslike games like the level of difficulty and the penalties for dying. He also said that it will have a checkpoint system similar to that seen in Dark Souls and its already traditional bonfires.

The development of Lies of P is still missing.

During the interview, Ji-won Choi revealed what stage of development the project is in. He assured that, although the team already has 50% of the base content, in reality the project has 30% of total progress. The latter due to the fact that, among other things, the 6-month polishing process that will take place after development would still be missing.

We remind you that the development of Lies of P runs by South Korean studio Round8. IF all goes well, this eye-catching project will hit stores sometime in 2022 and will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.
