The latest franchise to be launched by Obsidian Entertainment, The Outer Worlds, turned out to be so successful that a new installment is already in development. The project was officially revealed in the middle of this year, but clues indicate that it has been in development for several years and its launch could be closer than you think.
Perhaps the recent revelation of The Outer Worlds 2, at E3 2021, suggest that development is at an early stage, but the truth could be different. We say this because it has just been discovered that the project has been in development since before the premiere of the first game in the series.

The Outer Worlds 2 I could be ready sooner than you think
We know this thanks to official information on the LinkedIn profile of the project’s production director, Dan Maas, which reveals that the title would be in development at least since September 2019, when he began to hold this position. That said, the game is already 2 years and 3 months in development. We remind you that The Outer Worlds debuted a month later, in October 2019.
Taking into account the development times of large projects in the industry, it is possible that it will be ready before the end of 2023. However, you should take into account that Obsidian Entertainment has more projects in progress. The existence of the RPG is already known Avowed and rumors reveal that the separate studio is working on a promising game called Repent, an adventure that would be of lesser proportions, but that does not mean that his proposal does not sound promising.
In case you missed it: The Outer Worlds 2 It could be powered by Unreal Engine 5.
