CD Projekt RED, studio of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, has faced major problems and controversies in recent months. This caused its net income to drop dramatically at the beginning of the year.

The studio will recover little by little and the players have already begun to look favorably on Cyberpunk 2077 after its disastrous launch. Despite this, there was a time when the outlook was not at all favorable for the Polish company.

In fact, it was said that CD Projekt RED would take a long time to recover and that it would be a candidate for other large companies in the industry to acquire. However, the reality is very different, as the president of the study reaffirmed that they are not for sale.

CD Projekt RED is not for sale, clarifies its president

Adam Kiciński, president of CD Projekt RED, was recently asked about a possible purchase by another company or if they are looking for an investor after everything that happened with their most recent title.

The manager was clear, as he affirmed that their long-term plans are to remain independent, which implies that they do not have any type of conversation or negotiation for their possible sale. In addition, he reaffirmed that they are not looking for an investor for now and that there is no way for another company to make a hostile takeover of the study.

“We have said for years that we plan to remain independent and we do not plan to be part of a larger entity. We are not looking for a strategic investor either. “

Knowing that CD Projekt RED wants to be independent is not unusual, since it has very popular franchises and this year it has invested in its future. In July he opened a new studio in Vancouver, Canada, and also bought The Molasses Flood, an independent developer.

The company has stated that it has plans to further expand and work on growing its popular series. He is currently working on new generation versions of The Witcher: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, which were delayed and will now arrive in early 2022.
