With over 8.4 million followers on Twitch, Imane “Pokimane” Anys is one of the most successful and popular streamers on Twitch. Luckily, he uses his fame, resources and influence to support emerging content creators and fans struggling to finance their studies or wanting to make the move to professionalism in the world of esports.

In 2020, the content creator promised that she will give money to students who play video games through scholarships. At the time, he assured that he would always provide this economic support and, although it is still too early to know if this promise will continue in the coming years, at least in 2021 he once again kept his word.

Pokimane confirmed on his social media that he has partnered with the American Video Game League (AVGL) to provide an attractive scholarship valued at $ 100,000 USD. This financial support will be distributed among 10 lucky players who aspire to continue their studies at a university degree.

For the scholarship, the Twitch streamer will contribute $ 50,000 USD, while the remaining amount will be run by the American Video Game League. Likewise, its distribution will be administered by Scholarship America, an American organization that helps corporations, foundations and individuals raise funds and administer scholarships for students.

How to apply for the Pokimane scholarship?

This is the third time that the content creator has launched a scholarship to help young students. Fortunately, and unlike the first 2 occasions, this third financial support will not be linked to a specific academic institution.

Thus, any student from Canada or the United States can participate. Of course, those interested can apply for the scholarship as long as they plan to attend university in the fall of 2022. The call is now open and will end until December 31, 2021.

Students who wish to obtain this scholarship must send a 1 or 2 minute video explaining their background with videogames and their goals as a player.

“With both of my parents being teachers, I am especially proud to launch another scholarship to help students with a passion for games. I know firsthand that it is not easy to balance school work and a video game career. I hope this scholarship alleviates that stress for aspiring content creators and gamers, ”Pokimane commented.
