Yesterday we told you that Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition You will receive a DLC that will add Mexico as a new civilization. If the news moved you, but you were left wanting more, you should know that World’s Edge released a video in which it shows us more about our country as a civilization.

The official channel of Age of Empires shared a video of almost 4 minutes and a half long in which we can see the most important characteristics of Mexico as a civilization of Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. As you can see, the study describes it as a unique civilization that has mechanics that give it its own style of play.

What will make Mexico special is that, like the United States, it will advance through the ages by selecting different states. The interesting thing is that each of them has 2 federal cards that can be used to change strategy mid-game and thus surprise opponents.

Another important characteristic is that in each era Mexico can start with revolutions. Each of them offers unique civilization bonuses that grant powerful but limited options. In case you don’t like the result, you can back off the revolt or leave it for later.

One point that draws the attention of Mexican civilization is the Haciendas. They are buildings in which you can grow food, in addition to being able to use them as an Urban Center by making them the center of your civilization and economy. You can also Cathedrals to obtain bonuses such as Day of the Dead, which gives experience for each unit lost in battle.
