Bridgerton season 2 filming ends with BTS image

Bridgerton showrunner Chris Van Dusen confirms that season 2 of Netflix’s popular romantic period drama has finished filming.

De Netflix Bridgerton Season 2 has finished filming, showrunner Chris Van Dusen confirmed on Twitter. The Regency-era drama follows the life of London’s high society, with its dishonest romances reported by Lady Whistledown, an anonymous gossip writer who uses the platform to manipulate and cause scandal for the aristocracy. The series was hugely popular for the streaming service, so much so that Bridgerton Season 1 quickly became one of Netflix’s biggest shows, garnering a selection of accolades and nominations, including an Emmy nomination.

The show, which follows author Julia Quinn’s book series, will change focus in season 2, following the life of a different brother from the titular Bridgerton family. While season 1 followed Daphne Bridgerton’s affair with the Duke of Hastings, Bridgerton Season 2, instead, will be based on the romantic endeavors of the eldest son and incumbent Anthony Bridgerton. While the responsibility of finding his sisters a suitable match rests on his shoulders, Anthony himself refuses to marry and instead pursues a secret crossover relationship with opera singer Siena. Returning as Anthony Bridgerton for season 2 is Wide church actor Jonathan Bailey, as he joins the cast Sex education’s Simone Ashley, who will play Anthony’s latest love interest, Kate Sharma.

Thanks to a recent post on Twitter by Dusen, the wait probably won’t be too long to see what happens between Anthony and Kate. Dusen, pictured with Bailey and Ashley, confirmed in the tweet that Bridgerton Season 2 has finished filming. The director also thanked the cast and crew for contributing their hard work in what he considers to be a challenging year. While no release date was confirmed in the tweet, Dusen ended the post saying that Bridgerton Season 2 will arrive in 2022.

While it remains a difficult time due to the COVID-19 restrictions that continue to pressure the media production, Dusen thanks the cast and crew for bringing his game shows to how committed they are to making.
