Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition unfortunately it did not live up to the expectations of the fans. The title has received a lot of criticism and today Rockstar finally spoke about how it plans to fix its imperfections. In the statement, Rockstar even revealed that it will reverse its decision to withdraw the classic games that the remastering includes, but there is bad news for Steam users.

As we discussed earlier today, Rockstar acknowledged that its intentions were to allow through the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for players to enjoy versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas “on modern platforms for years to come,” however, he said, he realized that many want to continue to have access to the classic versions.

Will classic versions come to Steam?

For this reason, Rockstar announced that it would bring back to PC the original versions of the 3 titles that are included in the collection. However, the interesting thing is that the company only referred to the Rockstar Store, which will receive these 3 games in bundle form soon. There was even talk of the possibility that users of said platform can get it at no additional cost as long as they have bought Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition before June 30, 2022.

The bad news for Steam users, as you can see, is that Rockstar did not say anything about this store and at the time of writing the titles are not available in the Valve store or other platforms on PC, so it is expected that Rockstar will only bring the classic versions to its store. It is unknown if the plans will change later. We will keep you informed.

In case you missed it: the Rockstar logo appears erroneously on GTA: The Trilogy.
