Sega Introduces Official Sonic, Yakuza, and Shenmue Colonies

Sega has announced a new merchandising product dedicated to three of its most popular licenses: Sonic, Yakuza and Shenmue. These are nothing less than colognes decorated with images from these sagas, and although we do not know if the fragrance is inspired by the smell of a hedgehog or the sweat of a real yakuza, they are undoubtedly an original product for collectors.

It is true that video game colonies have been in the making for a long time, as they are cheap to manufacture, they are presented as luxury gifts and are usually limited editions in time. Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Pokmon and other sagas have had their respective colonies. Sega’s are for sale in the European shop with descriptions as suggestive as “tobacco and gold” for Shenmue, hedgehog “Blue Blur” for Sonic and Gotoku “Bourbon and smoke” for Yakuza.

A closer look reveals the components of your formula – or at least the scent you are looking for -: in the case of the cologne for Yakuza the fragrance is said to display a deep and mysterious aroma of antique oak, cedar wood, beeswax infused with smoked bourbon, coryza rose and bell pepper. In the case of Sonic the aroma is reminiscent of fresh citrus, a hint of grapefruit zest, and exotic lemon and lime, topped off by the scene of ocean breeze and fading cold melon. If, on the other hand, you are a fan of the Dreamcast game, the cologne offers notes of cardamom and bergamot, smoky golden tobacco, orris root and a strong base of patchouli.
