GTA Trilogy: Rockstar apologizes for its many problems and promises to fix them

By now it is well known to all that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition does not do its name justice and it has turned out to be a product that leaves a lot to be desired, as we detailed in the analysis that we dedicated a few days ago in Vandal.

The remastering of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has ended up disappointing everyone because of its numerous programming errors and its graphical deficiencies when updating models and other elements to Unreal Engine, completely loading the artistic direction of its original versions.

Rockstar’s apology and promise

After a week in which Rockstar has not stopped receiving criticism for the status of this product, now the company has issued a statement publicly apologizing for what happened and acknowledging that what they have released to the market is not in a state that meets the standards quality of the study.

“The updated versions of these classics were not released in a state that would meet our own quality standards or that of our fans,” the statement read. “We have plans to fix all your technical problems and improve each of the games. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality they deserve. ”

An update will be released in the next few days for all versions of the game we fix numerous problems. We will inform you as soon as it is available. “Additionally, from Rockstar they have communicated that some of the members of the study responsible for these remasters are being harassed by networks and they ask for respect to them.

Classic versions of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas return to PC

In another vein, the company has commented that they are aware that many players would like to have the classic versions of the three titles (were removed from digital stores after the announcement of the triloga), which is why they will be releasing them on PC as a pack that can be purchased at the Rockstar Store. Although they have not detailed a date, they assure that they will arrive very soon and that anyone who acquires GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitve Edition for PC in said store before June 30, 2022 receive the classic versions completely free of charge in your library. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about whether a similar move will be made in the future on the other platforms or we will have to settle only with the remasters.
